Take off the mask, see your self

Within the fog, sometimes a revelation lurks. You are more.

Masks Undone

To tear the face off of a faceless man, the mask he wears today. Is if frightening or illuminating, wonderful or awe inspiring? Masks put on, again and again to keep ones inner-self safe from the cruelty of the world. Lose ones self within these masks and become a specter, a stranger, an elemental form of something other than the vulnerable human that is hopefully laying dormant within. Cover the many facets that can lead to tender moments, cover the things that have to do with love and passion. With what is left upon the surface, no wonder people misunderstand the one within. Take off the masks, or better yet don’t even put them on.
Let yourself be just you, to hurt, love, weep, smile, and be among the countless others that you might be trying to shield your self from. And realize that it is the energy of the seeming indifference and hostile defense that mirrors all of these apparent attacks right on back into your own being. Stop seeing the world as a battlefield and the peace that was once a figment of someone else’s imagination becomes a reality.
Maybe the path to your own happiness is within the peace made with ones own self, not with the world alone; As the world is immense and cannot be walked across in a day. Peace I say, peace. You shall always have tears and holes within your self that need mending, and some will never seem to patch, but somewhere, and some way, it will happen in this life or the next if you allow and surrender to your own sense of self and love.
Inside us we hold the key to our own selves, if we could only find the sense of how huge and intricate we are within this small body. Sometimes this does take time outside, to find the fragments of self that have left, like a quest for pieces of a broken artifact. Maybe you will also find a path to knowing your self and the love inside, and put the pieces together so that over time you may be whole and healed. First thing though, look inside and stop letting the fear of this overwhelming notion of self intimidate and destroy the possibility of coming together and being at piece.
